How to Add and Edit New Patient

This guide walks you through the process of adding a new patient to the system and editing existing patient records to keep all information accurate and up to date.


Getting started

  • Go to Practice Settings on the left-hand side
  • Select Patient Admin.

Add New Patient

  • To add a new patient, press the purple New button.
  • Fill in the patient details:
    • *Required Fields:
      • First Name
      • Last Name
    • Optional Fields:
      • MRN ( helps prevent duplicate patient records)
      • Address
      • Gender
      • Height (in)
      • Weight (lbs)
    • Press Continue to Patient Insurance.

Patient Insurance

  • Complete the patient insurance information
    • *Required Fields:
      • Insurance company (If the insurance company you’re looking for is not an option, select Contact Samacare Support)
      • Member ID
      • Insurance Type (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Other)
    • Optional Fields:
      • Group Number ( although not required, this is very helpful if we need to perform a status check)
      • Relationship to subscriber
    • Once complete select Save.

How to Edit an Existing Patient

  • Under Patient Admin, locate the patient you would like to edit.( You can search via search bar at the top of the screen)
  • Press the pencil icon on the right-hand side.
  • Edit all the necessary information.
  • Select Save.
