What is BV Lite?

• SamaCare is dedicated to supporting your practice throughout the script to therapy journey. Our BV Lite feature empowers you to perform Benefit Verifications (BV) for patients at any convenient time. BV Lite provides critical information such as deductible amounts and copay/coinsurance details for physician office visits. This feature is designed to streamline your workflow and improve efficiency, ensuring you have the necessary insurance information for up to 80% of covered lives.

Launch BV Lite

• Once you have logged into your SamaCare Account, navigate to the “Benefits Verifications” tab located on the left navigation pane.

Understanding This Window

• Search - This option enables you to search for your benefit verification using any characteristics related to your request.
• Columns - This option allows you to show or hide the columns in your view.
• Filters - This option enables you to filter the results in your current view based on specific characteristics.
• Density - This feature lets you adjust the height of your columns for optimal visual clarity.
• Export - This option enables you to download or print the benefit verifications displayed on your current screen.
• New - This option allows you to initiate a new benefit verification request.

Request A New BV

• Start a New BV - To initiate a new request, navigate to the Benefits Verification tab and select "New" in the top right corner.
• Enter Patient Information - Enter the required patient information, making sure all details are accurate to obtain the most precise verification results.
• Select Your Service - We currently offer drug-specific benefit verifications for PAVBLU, VYVGART, VYVGART Hytrulo, and DAXXIFY as part of our premium BV Ease product. The "Benefit Verification Lite for Medical Services" option provides general information on deductibles and copay/coinsurance for physician office visits.
• Enter Insurance Information - Enter your patients primary insurance information.
• Submit Your Request - Once all necessary information is entered, select the Submit button. Your request will be processed, and results will be generated shortly.

• When creating a form prior authorization request, the BV Lite widget will appear once you have filled out your patient information. Click on "Check Coverage" to initiate a benefit verification request.

Locate BV Lite Results

• After submitting a BV Lite request, the results will be displayed in the Benefits Verifications tab, along with any BV Ease ( Drug Specific Full BV results). The "Type" column will indicate whether the request is a BV Lite or a Full BV (BV Ease), which includes drug-specific benefits verification.
• BV Lite results are clearly labeled for easy identification.
• The "Status" column keeps you informed by displaying the current state of your request.

Interpret the Results

• Health Benefit Plan Coverage: BV Lite results will provide the deductible amounts for the health plan as well as out-of-pocket amounts when available. 
• Professional (Physician) Visit - Office: Details regarding copay or coinsurance amounts for physician office visits will also be provided where available.

• How quickly can I receive BV Lite results?

• Can I use BV Lite for all patients? 
  BV Lite supports a wide range of health plans, covering up to 80% of lives. For specific drug verifications that are not available please reach out to our team to learn more about how we work with pharma partners to provide that service. Available for Aetna, Cigna, Humana, OptimaHealth, Priority Health, WellCare, United Healthcare, Independent Health, BCBS NC, and select Anthem state plans.
