TABLE OF CONTENTS
What is the "Patients" Tab?
The Patients Tab lists all patients within your institution and organizes them based on the most recent updates to their records (demographics, PAs, benefit verifications, etc.). This allows you to quickly see important changes and take action as needed.
Key Features:
Easy Search
You can search by First Name, Last Name, or Drug with a simple keyword.
Example: Searching "John" will return all patients named John, but searching "John Smith" will narrow it further.
Quick Filters for Expiring PAs
Use the “Expiring PA” filter to find patients whose PAs are expiring soon or have already expired.
You can combine this filter with search for even more precise results.
Action Column for Next Steps
The Action column helps guide you on what needs to be done next for each patient.
Clicking on a patient opens the Details Panel with more information about their coverage and treatment history
Taking Action in the Patients Tab
The Patients Tab helps streamline key workflows with easy-to-follow actions.
For Patients with Active Workflows
The system provides clear Action Messages to guide your next steps, especially for partnered drugs that use BV Ease (e.g., Vyvgart, Vyvgart Hytrulo, etc.).
Action | When It’s Available | What It Does |
---|---|---|
Start BV | The patient has a PA for a partnered drug with BV Ease | Begins a new benefit verification request from the details panel. |
Start PA | The patient has a completed BV for a partnered drug | Guides you to start the associated PA. |
Complete BV | The patient has an expired PA (within 30 days) | A draft BV has been auto-created—just review and submit. If left incomplete for 24 hours, SamaCare Ops will follow up. |
Renew PA | The patient’s PA is expiring soon | One-click option to renew the authorization before it expires. |
For Patients Without an Active Workflow
Verify Insurance Coverage
If insurance details are available, SamaCare will automatically run a coverage check.
If insurance information is incomplete, missing fields will be highlighted, making it easy to update.
Add a Treatment (Drug)
If a patient doesn’t have a listed treatment, you can add a drug to their record.
After adding a drug, you’ll get guidance on starting a new PA.
If the drug is from a partnered manufacturer, you’ll have access to enhanced workflows to streamline the process.
