Navigating The Summary Details Section



Within this article, you'll embark on a journey to navigate your responses within the summary details section on Samacare. Explore the realms of managing authorizations and events, alongside updating statuses and uploading files. Through this exploration, you'll uncover valuable techniques aimed at enhancing the efficiency of handling your responses. 



Lets Get Started!

  • Select “Authorizations” on the left side navigation pane.

Find Your Authorization!

  • Locate the authorization you wish to view and click on it to open.

View The Summary Details!

  • History Tab: Within the history tab, you will find a chronological list detailing all events and updates that have occurred since the authorization was submitted.
    • The "Events" column displays a comprehensive list of all the modifications and updates made to the authorization.
    • In the "User" column, you will find the name of the user who initiated the update or modification to the authorization.
    • The "Time" column provides you with the time and date the changes were made.
  • Files Tab: The "Files" tab contains all pertinent documents associated with your prior authorization request.
    • After successfully submitting your Fax authorization, a confirmation of the fax will be visible in the summary details tab. This confirmation will include a copy of the fax you submitted.
    • Any letters we receive related to your request will be found under this tab.

History - Who Made The Change?

  • If you or a member of your practice made a modification, the column will display your name or your colleague's name. If the change was executed by the SamaCare system or a SamaCare user, it will be attributed to SamaCare.

Action Required?

  • Indicates that we have received a reply from a payer that indicates additional information is needed or that there is a  response that requires your review.

  • To access the documents associated with the events, click on the "View Response" icon.

  • Within this window, you can review the most recent authorization details, download the response, upload the response to your EMR, and print it as needed.

"Download" Icon

  • To quickly download a response, select the download icon.

Attach A File

  • To upload a response or communication to the authorization, simply click on the "Attach File" option.
  • Next, click on "Browse PDFs to upload" and select the file you want to attach.
  • Upon successfully uploading your document, a message confirming "Successfully uploaded new correspondence" will appear. You can then proceed to click "Done" to exit this window.
