The following is a summary of the essential components found on every authorization management page:

  • Patient Name - The patient name used during the submission process will be displayed at the top. Please note that patient details cannot be modified after submission. For information on how to update patient details before submission, refer to the linked article.

  • Patient DOB - The patient's date of birth used during the submission process will be displayed. Please note that patient details cannot be modified after submission. For information on how to update patient details before submission, refer to the linked article.

  • Request Description - The drug or procedure code entered during your request submission.

  • Insurance Payer - The insurance provider or portal where the request was submitted.

  • Submission Method - The submission method for the prior authorization request.

Action Buttons 

The following is a summary of some of the different Action Buttons you will encounter on the authorization management page:

  • Email Notifications - Use this option to choose whether you want to receive email notifications.

  • Tags - This feature allows you to add or remove tags from your prior authorization request.

  • Status - To view the current status of your prior authorization request or make any necessary updates, please use this option.

  • Notes - Click here to access and manage notes associated with the authorization. This is a valuable resource for understanding the reasons behind any modifications made to the request.

  • Assignee - To assign a specific individual to handle this prior authorization request, please select this option. The assigned person will receive email notifications when alerts are enabled.

  • Check Status in Portal - To view the current status of your prior authorization request within the insurance payer's portal, please select this option.

  • History - To review the history of modifications made to the prior authorization request, please select this tab.

  • Attach A File - To attach a document to your prior authorization request, please select this option.

  • Files - To view the files attached to your prior authorization request, please select this tab.

  • Download Response Files - To download the responses attached to your request, please utilize this option.

  • Click Here - In the event that the attached response is unrelated to your inquiry, please click here to remove it and return it to SamaCare.
